We started Monday with a trip to the Escola Cecilia Meireles where they use the Waldorf or Steiner method to teach children from 3 to 12. We had a very interesting visit and were guided by Manu and the Director of the school - many thanks to them both for their time and making us welcome.
We then visited Arte Heraldica where we were all able to see famous coats of arms and look for our own - I never knew there were so many!
After lunch we went to the Triumph lingerie factory here in Friburgo - lingerie is one of the citys main industries.
In the evening we had another presentation, this time at the caledonia club. We were well received and had another enjoyable evening.
On Tuesday, our last day in Friburgo we started at a plastics factory - Thurlerflex and saw how the products are made as well as receiving a few samples - many thanks to the team there.
Later we went to sample local sweets before heading to Marissas house for lunch - an amazing BBQ - thank you Marissa for having us!
In the afternoon we went and met the Mayor of Friburgo who asked about our stay here and showed us some beautiful pictures of the town.
Later we went to the house of Eduardo,a Rotarian who has collected beetles all of his life and has a huge collection. I couldn't believe the size of some of them.
Later we all met for dinner at the Sushi Ban to celebrate our last night here. The food was amazing, the company even better, and I got a birthday cake which topped it off beautifully.
Our thanks to Fany and all of the families we have stayed with, as well as the people at the places we have visited for making our stay in Friburgo a happy and unforgettable experience - I don't think any of us want to leave, and I hope we'll come back.
