Would you believe it? The same time as we arrive in Niteroi it started to rain.
Our reception once again has been first class and I am being accommodated by Sandra and her husband Kleber. Katie and Ruth are also in the appartment.
After a long journey from Cabo Frio we joined about 250 other Rotarians at The House of Friendship, Niterio for the opening start of the District 4750 Conference. The opening ceremony was impressive with a parade of club banners and a colour party of United Nations Peacekeeping veterans. District Governor Ribeiro was presented with a medal and formal sessions began. A cocktail party followed and at 11 pm the team were spirited away to a Pizza restaurant!! (We are having long days and short nights). I cannot speak too highly of the way we are being looked after and I must be feeling at home as I am now wearing my slippers around the apartment!! Tomorrow is our presentation day but judging by the two we have already done I am sure things will go well.
