Baywatch boys & bikini girls - and then back to work

On Tuesday morning the team had some rest time and so our hosts very kindly took us to see one of the best oceanic beaches in Niteroi. We ran on the beach, swam and sampled the coconut water that everyone has been telling us to try - it was very refreshing.

We went back to Sandra's for a delicious fish lunch before heading to the Grael project which is supported by Rotary.

The project provides educational and vocational training for children from poorer communities, and relates it to sailing so the children learn skills relevant to sailing and learn to sail, but more than that they learn a profession which stands them on better stead for the future. They are doing some excellent work and gave us food for thought. Thank you to all at the project for sharing it with us.

Sandra and Kleber later took us to their Rotary club meeting where we were presented with banners and badges - thank you.

Tomorrow we move on to Nova Friburgo in the mountains. We will all be sad to leave Niteroi as we have been very well looked after here. Special thanks to Sandra, Kleber, Fernanda and to Flavia for sharing their homes with us. Obrigada!
