D1100 GSE to Brazil 2009

B-Day + 2

A very busy day with breakfast, brunch, late lunch and dinner still too come - with added musical entertainment!

First visited a college in the centre of town that trains technicians of many different kinds - medical, computer, health and safety, etc then on to a centre that looks after and gives advice to people with HIV but who cannot afford any treatment and finally in the morning to the Archeological Museum where we supposed to meet the Mayor but he didn't arrive but we were given a performance by some local school children of a song sun in the local native brasilian language.

Then went on to visit a salt "mine" which are very common in the area - it is actually a large series of shallow ponds where they evaporate the water off and then collect the salt. Finally for the day we went to visit a centre where they use horses to provide therapy for disabled children.

Having a bit of a rest now as got to get ready for dinner and Ruth had better get practicing her key board!!!
